I'm going to putting together my first custom loop within the next few weeks and i'm looking at option for mounting my pump/res combo (this one).

The picture below shows where i intend to mount the two 360mm rads and the pump/res (if its not already obvious red is radiator and blue is pump/res).

I was going to order this mounting bracket but i'm wondering if there might be a 3rd party bracket that's less, well, ugly?

Thanks

You wont even see the bracket.

you will see the bracket that is linked in the OP's post, the one TangoEchoAlpha mentioned is more discreet.

Another option if your mounting a pump/res to a 120mm fan is the Singularity Computers pump/res combo, this already comes with the mounting bracket.

Okay, let me rephrase that.

I use that bracket with a d5 xres and I don't even see it.

no you wont, or at least it wont be obvious. the pump/res combo itself will block most of the bracket from view. the 'back' of the bracket also gives you somewhere to hide cabling unlike the the other option linked.

The singularity stuff looks great but was just too expensive and i've already bought the EK pump/res.

My other concern with mounting it as per my picture my OP is whether or not the pump is going to transmit vibrations through the case.

Will you be mounting fan's along that side intake? if you are most fans come with rubber mounts to stop vibrations anyway, if not then you can always by some rubber washers to help with this?

I know this is front mounted, and the OP wants to mount on the side but the roation of the bractet would be the same, unless i'm mistaken? The bracket is clearly visible. This pump bracket is very versatile and can be mounted in many different configurations/rotations so it's good for that reason, I was merely stating that the other mount was more discreet!

Nice set up.

I see what you mean and as you say the other mount would be more discrete.

Personally my eyes aren't drawn towards the mount, in situ it is mostly obscured by the res and pump and blends in well with its surroundings so I don't see it.

I do have a Noctua NF-F12 knocking about so I might install that and then cover it up with the pump/res.

The pump comes with a rubber ring that goes around it before the mounting bracket does. There are two types you can choose from (i used the one with pyramids on it) and so far mine hasn't been transferring noise to the case.
