Hi, recently got myself an IP CCTV camera that I want to mount on the soffits of my house. The house is about 7 years old and it appears the soffits are plastic (although I haven't looked up close).

What would be the best method of securing it - I'm thinking drill small 2-3mm pilot holes and then screw into place? Or are there rawl plugs or something for this sort of thing? - thanks.

Thanks, sounds good. It also comes with a sticky rubber mounting pad although I'm not really sure why this is needed.

If the pad is the same size as the whole base, use it, then it will act as a gasket to keep moisture out, or could run a bead of mastic around the base..

Mark you holes without the pad attached first, as some have rather vicious adhesive & can be difficult removing once stuck.

Before you go screwing it into anything, hang it outside your window at night and check what you can see. In fact go outside and look at the camera.
If all you have recorded on your PC is a grey picture of some unknown bloke looking at your camera, then mounting it that high isn't going to do much.
