Mounting DVD drive under my desk

Hello, as above, I want to mount my Pioneer Blu Ray drive under my desk, and ideally have it still run off internal power and SATA. I would appreciate any advice and help anyone would proffer, as I can't even seem to find a 5.25 drive bay that I could screw to the table, never mind some SATA power extension cable or a passthrough panel fopr the back of the PC. I do have an external enclosure for it, but I think it's a bit suspect for data rate, as my Motörhead Blu Ray stutters, and it's USB.

Thanks for the reply, but I want to use my current BDXL drive. It works OK for all DVD and Blu Ray apart from Motörhead Stage Fright Blu Ray, perhaps it's a bad BD. I am now thinking about having an enclosure 3D printed, and I suppose I'll have to bite the bullet for the price of a SATA power cable, I already have a long enough SATA data cable.

It's in an external enclosure already, an OWC Mercury Pro. Too heavy, and only supports USB. I don't think I can velcro this to the desk as it's too heavy. I'll take a side panel off, and connect a SATA lead, and see if the Motörhead Blu Ray skips. Which I'll do later cos it's early now!

Not quite sure what you're aiming for. Are you trying to diagnose why the disk won't play (and think it might be something to do with USB), or wanting to move the drive out of the way or a combination?

If you want a permanent non-USB external connection for the drive you are probably looking for an eSATA enclosure. Only 5.25" I can see on OC is this one, currently out of stock:

Unless your motherboard already has an eSATA port on the back panel, you'll also need an adapter. Either an add-in card like this:

Or a simple I/O slot converter like StarTech's ESATAPLATE2 product.

OK, I will clarify. I want to mount my Pioneer Bllu Ray Drive underneath my desk. It already is in an external drive bay with it's own power source, but it's very heavy. I was even looking at internal 5.25 drive trays that I could screw to the desk, but there's very little about that I can find online that seems suitable. The issue with the Motörhead Blu Ray is in addittion. I shall give it to a colleague to try in his playstation.

In that case, I would be tempted to try to create some sort of sling to hold the existing enclosure under the desk, rather than trying to find a mountable case.

Something this shape, for example:

but of an appropriate size. Perhaps with some felt pads to stop it sliding around?

ive have made 3d printed brackets to hold network switches under my desk, which worked fine. my 3d printers out of action at the moment though.

you would just need 4 brackets 1 in each corner, image a z shape but with a straight vertical, one end holds against the unit (with double tape )the top screws into the desk,

I went for this option, had a hoak about on thingiverse and selected something appropriate, thanks!
