Hi,

Looking for some advice please. Trying to mount my motherboard in a case and one of the standoffs is slightly misaligned (Bottom left if looking at the mounted board). It came this way as its a new case. Basically it means that I can't get that screw in to fix the motherboard in, all the other screws (7 plus middle post) go in no problem. Should I just leave it out or try and move the standoff with force?

Thanks for any help you can give me.

Leaving it off will not be a problem, the motherboard will still be held in securely.
However, ensure that it's not touching the underside of the motherboard as it could cause an electrical short if it touches in the wrong place.
If you can't bend it back to the correct position, it might be best to see if you can break it off the case completely.

I've done the same on mine - no ill effects from what I've seen :) In fact, I've got TWO missing
Ok thanks @Jarrod :), I had had a look around and saw mention that it wasn't a great idea as a heavy gfx or heatsink may warp the board slightly if it isn't securely fixed in, I wasn't really sure if this was actually an issue. Appreciate your feedback thanks.

Ok thanks @Paul_RD:), the standoff is only slightly off, just enough to make getting the screw in fully a problem, so isn't touching anywhere it shouldn't. Thanks for your feedback.

if it is the bottom left mount, there typically isn't a lot of force ever going in that area (thinking right side which is weight of GFX plus inserting the MATX 24 pin power cable).
Deffo make sure it isn't touching another part of the board but most have a ring around to protect. Should be OK
