I have dug mine out of the attic and set it up for the nipper.

They love it but to be honest, on carpet, it is a bit pap.

It is one of the baize pitches from the 80's.

I am thinking of using carpet glue or similiar and sticking it to some MDF.

Anyone done anything similiar? Any tips appreciated. Thanks.

My ex gf's old man done this exact same thing stuck it to a thin bit of MDF and we used to have sessions of it with her brother, he was obsessed with subbuteo had all green boxes of players from many moons ago. Some were quite rare.. I think he had every team you could think of lol.

Do a proper job and get some bezel worktop edging around it too, stop the ball rolling off.

I had mine on some chipboard when I was a kiddie, spray adhesive should work fine such as bostick... I did a similar thing with a tablecloth to a sheet of MDF for my gaming table.

Be careful if its a felt material as it will easily strech and deform if forced

remember you don't need to fix the whole thing, like a snooker table fix around the edges and leave the overall area loose, allowing it to move.

if you don't, you will find it starts to create ridges etc, much like it did in the eighties when it was done.

Alternatively for a te,port solution so you can always put it back in storage when not being used pull it taught and use pins to secure in corners

Contact adhesive. Spray it on both surfaces and stretch the pitch tight as you lay it down.
