Just ended, so this is what I have taken from it:

1 - United have made 2 (no 3) signings, chasing a 4th
2 - Wants to concentrate on signing specialist role players
3 - Looking to wrap up transfer incomings as quick as possible
4 - Got piece of paper out stating he has promoted 49 youth players during
his managerial career (Rafa moment....FACT)
5 - Doesn't see Rooney as a deep midfielder, I suspect he will play number 10 role behind Zlatan

So there will only be 4 new players this window.

Zlatan, Bailly, Mkhitarian and a fourth midfielder (Pogba seems first choice as it stands).

That is potentially enough to challenge for the title if all the new players perform and some of last years signings step up.

Only area that would still worry me is defence. If Shaw comes back strongly LB is fine. If Bailly is solid then CB is sorted but RB is still a worry. Based on last season I don't trust Darmian or Valencia there.

I don't like the fact that Rooney is still a big part of our plans but hopefully he will either regain some form or he will be dropped completely. The league will be super competitive next season and you cannot afford to carry a player who isn't performing.

One of our biggest issues last season apart from the turgid football was so much going through Rooney when he was useless. If your RB is underperforming he doesn't affect the whole team, when your CM/AM is doing the same he kills most of your attacking threat.
