Motherboard wouldn't matter, except maybe in the bios (my Qpad mouse dont work), but that shouldn't stop you getting decent hardware.
I use a Logitech Illuminated Keyboard, Scissor key mechanism, ultra slim (think laptop), really nice to type on, and been going strong for a couple of years now. I would otherwise recommend a mechanical with MX brown.
At work I use a Logitech UltraX Premium, with scissor keys as well, but not as soft as the LIK, and not as low profile. Still, the best typing feel of any cheap keyboard I've ever used (again similar to laptops). Both keyboard super quiet.
As for the mouse, I don't think you'll go wrong with a Logitech G400. These logitechs are also great for office work and so on. I use a MX518 at work, which was the model before the G400.
