i know nothing of them. really. but i will need new ones. how responsive are wireless ones? from what i have seen they are fine but a lot of people say they are bad, esspecicialy for gaming. and this may sound realy strange but i dont have a desk, so i will be using the chair arm as a mouse mat (i realy have no other option). it worked fine for my old mouse but badly for the one before that. how can i tell if it will work? thanks

I'm using a 6 quid logitech optical mouse. Works on every surface Ive tried except glass. It didn't like glass. Using it on a chair now, as it makes a convenient and large mousemat. Laser is probably better.

Wireless is pretty good now I believe. Bluetooth generally superior to infra red. Security issues associated with using one, but you need to be fairly paranoid to care.

Logitech wireless stuff has been fine for gaming for years. It's MS ones that often have issues.

I've had wireless Logitech KB and mice for many years now and I was born to play FPS.

thanks guys. thats a great help. the only thing im worried about is some have verry big receptors and id be scarded of knocking them. will ones with smaller usb things be worse or anything? thanks

Newer Logitech ones have small USB dongles.

Depending on how far your PC is from the mouse for example you may need to run USB extension cable so the dongle sits beside the desk or something.

My MX Revolution dongle is extended and stuck at the back of the desk.

Wireless mice and keyboards don't use infra-red, they're either RF or Bluetooth. Dn't know about MS stuff, but Logitech's sets use encryption. Don't know how effective it is though.

I've had two Logitech wireless sets, the MX3100 and currently the MX5500, both are fine for gaming. If I'm being honest, the MX3100 was perhaps slightly better, but this current keyboard and mouse is still very responsive and perfectly fine for gaming.
