Ive recently bought a Roccat Kone+ to go with my new system. Its a great mouse, feels good, looks the part and im very pleased with it on the whole. The only problem is its recently developed an issue with the scroll wheel. When im scrolling down a large page it will "bounce" its way down. By that i mean it seems to scroll down 4 lines, then jump up 2 then down 2 then maybe down another 4 or something like that..makes me feel like im on acid!

I thought perhaps it was down to both windows and the Kone software both interpreting my inputs and fighting against eachother, so ive tried it without the Kone software, installed the Kone drivers again fresh - still the same issue. Ive tried another mouse which works fine. Is there some setting or software issue ive not explored? Or does it sound like a duff wheel on the mouse? :(

Edit - after a bit more of a thorough search it would seem this issue has plagued a lot of the Kone+ mice. There are a few videos/guides on youtube etc to solve this problem, has anyone done this successfully? Or should i just get back in touch with OCUK for a replacement?

Sounds like the issue most people have had with these (Me included). Time to RMA I'm afraid, it's a design flaw - they don't seem to last very long.

Well as i said im pretty fond of the mouse, so i attempted the WD-40 fix. Worked a treat! A few people have said simply blast it down the side of your scroll wheel, however i dont really like the idea of making puddles of it in my mouse :P

Took it apart, covered everything with tissue apart from the sensor that detects the wheel movement and gave it a squirt and worked it in, works like a new one now.. (well it is still new near enough :/ )

Chuffed it worked, but disappointed that i had to do it in the first place. A 4 week old mouse shouldnt be having these sorts of problems, my mx510 is 9 years old and still works as good as the day i bought it! lol
