how do people clean their mice? i have one here, its not been used in some time but its accumulated a fair amoun of grime and oils and general gunk. even my normal mouse collects its share of grime and accumulated dead skin particularly on the wheel. im guessing im not the only person in the world whos mouse gets dirty. so how best to clean it?

what id really like it to be able to dunk them in some solvent and have it just dissolve the grome but obviously i dont want to kill the mice. what do you guys do to keep your mice clean?

I clean mine weekly, so I don't really have an issue with build-up of gunk! At work we have antibacterial phone wipes so I use these weekly also - if you have some, they work a treat!

not sure either would work, the problem bits are round the bettons and very specificaly the wheel.

whats really prompted my asking is the mouse in question is an oooold one. (microsoft bluetooth mouse, best mouse ever for my hand) but the wheel seems to have accumulated a layer of oily gunk. the thing hasnt been used in a coulp of years and short of trying to scrape it off which is waht ive been trying, a wipe just isnt going to get inside the thing. this is why i was thiking some solvent bath.

its the getting inside the thing thats the problem

I use isopropyl alcohol wipes, just because you pick them up really cheap off eBay. Less than £2 for 100 anyway.

They are also good for applying decals or cleaning thermal paste from CPU's.

Whats your commission? ;)

In all honesty, rubbing alcohol will do the same thing cheaper as will most baby wipes.

No commission, I dont work for Antec, what an odd thing to say.

You dont know what effects Alcohol can have on certain surfaces thats why these liquids are specially formulated to be used safely on all surface types.
