mouse clicking on boot

this isn't so much a problem as a curiosity; lately when windows 7 boots, the mouse cursor is already pressed, so that when i move my mouse i get the blue selection box. clicking once makes it go away. anyone have the slightest clue why it might be doing that?

have you tried the mouse on another system? It might just be the button which is broken.

ah thanks, good point i should have tried that. but the problem just kind of went away by itself recently!
