Mouse clicks too fast in game

Hi all,

Bit of a silly one but i've just installed and old game that I fancied playing but i'm having trouble trying to get it to work correctly.

The game starts fine etc and is all good until I come to click on something. I'm clicking a counter in the game but one click will move the counter several numbers instead of just one i.e. it goes 1-3 instead of 1-2. I don't know if it's some kind of hardware acceleration or something that can be switched off but i'm finding it really annoying.

I have tried a different mouse but still end up with the same problem.

I'm running Windows 7 x64.

Has anybody else suffered from this in an older game or know a way to stop it?

Hmm im sure there is a double click speed in windows under mouse options, this may help you.
Although i could be wrong on the excistence of any such option.

Control Panel > Mouse, but I don't think it'll help - it's not a bouble click issue. Can't offer any better solutions though, so it's worth a shot - good luck

Just tried that and no difference. I think its some kind of acceleration issue rather than a double click/windows setting!

I used to use a piece of software called Speed Gear, I'm sure a quick google could find the details.
There was another software called CPUkiller.. but I never had the guts to install and use it due to its rather aggressive name.

Try setting the core affinity to a single core using task manager. Right-click the process and go to set affinity and set it to a single CPU thread.

I thought of that one before its already set to one core.
