Now then, im not usualy a fan of gaming keyboards or mice but on this occasion im going to give one a try, im looking for something hopefully around 30-40 that isnt minute and built for a 8 year olds hand, Id be happy to listen to anyones arguments stating the pros and cons of each, my only wish is that its not tiny and not wireless.

I have the razer death adder ( bought as an unexpected present because normally i would not pay as much for a mouse ) but the difference is immense from your run of the line mice. Friend has a logitech and that one is sweet aswell. Deepends also what you want from the mouse, how many buttons, dpi changing in games etc. I would recommend razer for the pretty lights ^^

Thought to edit this, because I just re read you wanted the pros/ cons. With the DA you get a lot of customization abilities for your mouse, From Dpi to 5 buttons on the mouse itself. Which if you play a lot of FPS can be very useful, such as in COD MW1 you can set one of these buttons to be knife and grenade, which helps drastically in game for speedy reactions. The DPI goes up to 1800 along with the polling rate at 100 hz. Updates are released all the time so there is a great support for the product :) hope this helps.

Cons- cannot change dpi sensitivity whilst in game like on some logitechs, starting to show its age now but is still a great gaming mouse which i can only heap praise onto.

I don't use a mouse at all.

I use the power of mind with the ocz nia ;)... only joking, I tried it for an hour then threw it back in the box and it's been under my bed ever since lol

Going to plump for the intellimouse, its out of stock here though =[ needing it pretty sharpish any highstreet places may have it?

I'd like to recommend Logitech G5 or the new G500.
Maybe the older MX518...

I'd say, go to the store and try some, I think it really depends on the person who's buying the mouse.

G5 /thread

Would have said G7 but the wireless went in mine hence recommending the wired version which I now posses.

Its big, comfy and accurate.

G5.

Im on my 2nd G5 now, brilliant mouse. I must say however i prefer the old, orange model as it had a much better feel to it and was better quality.

The price is high... but you could also consider this?

Its basically a G5 but with a slightly different shape and a few other tweaks.

Whichever mouse you chose, be sure to set the DPI to the max that the mouse allows, and adjust sensitivity via the game settings and windows settings for maximum smoothness.

I have loads of mice, I have probably spent around £500 over the last 8 years on mice..

Loved the mx518, in all the mice I have had, it is simply awesome... but mice are very much a personal preference. Its comfort V features and finding a mixture of both.
