Now that I've got a good PC again for gaming I'm thinking about getting a top mouse for gaming, and a bigger mouse pad! Does anybody have any recommendations for good pieces of kit to get?

I mostly play first person shooters like Crysis etc.

Thanks.

Budget?

As big mouse pads go: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GS-000-BB&groupid=702&catid=32&subcat=1975

Mouse wise it varies, here are some options:

YOUR BASKET
1 x Razer Lachesis Refresh 5600 DPI Gaming Mouse £74.99
1 x SteelSeries Sensei Pro Laser Gaming Mouse (62150) £69.98
1 x Razer Naga 5600DPI MMO Laser Gaming Mouse £69.98
1 x Gigabyte Krypton Dual-Chassis 8200 DPI Laser Gaming Mouse £59.99
1 x Razer DeathAdder Respawn 3500 DPI Xtreme Precision Gaming Mouse - Retail £49.99
1 x CM Storm Sentinel Advance II 8200 DPI Gaming Mouse £47.99
Total : £384.32 (includes shipping : £9.50).

Most of these are pretty good, it just depends on what sort of size and weight you like, preferred sensitivity, how many buttons etc...

Thanks! I had no idea you could get a mouse with number buttons on the side, amazing, standard left, right mouse buttons and a wheel that you can also click will do me fine I think. I'm thinking a budget of £50, I do like the mouse to be sensitive but I have no idea about what dpi I require, using a lead doesn't bother me as long as it doesn't get tangled so it doesn't have to be wireless.

Loads of great suggestions here chaps, thanks, I need to get my hands on a few of these (literally) so I can judge how they feel in use.

The user defined bitmap thing on the Sensei is a cool feature.

I just bought the Mionix Naos 3200 last Monday...and I'm using it now and it is extremely comfortable with the shape allowing the ring finger to rest on...more comfortable than the Razer Deathadder, Logitech MX518 which I used.

I guess it's down to comfort vs features. But 3200 dpi with programmable buttons is plenty to be honest...only down side is the driver can be unstable at times and could hang...but if you are not programming the buttons, the mouse out of the box is already great out of the box even without needing driver, as you can switch the dpi on the button of the mouse itself.
