Mouse Freezing

Got a strange problem. Just built my new rig today, and every so often my mouse will just lock up for about a minute. The machine itself does not freeze because i can still alt-tab etc.

I have downloaded and installed all the latest drivers for motherboard and GFX, i know the mouse is ok as this was working on my old rig. I ran 3dMark which got a score of 3452 (I dont know if this is a good score or not like lol), all the latest windows updates.

Any ideas?

Is it a usb mouse? If so, try the ps2 port with a converter....

have you tried installing the drivers for the mouse?

Have you tried another mouse just to make absolutely certain your current mouse is ok?

I am going to try it in the PS2 port later, no i have not tried a different mouse but im sure this is fine. Will try updated drivers now.

Uninstall the mouse, then re install the drivers
