I've been seeing this more and more over the recent months,

I'm sure grip tape has been around for some time, but never really paid much attention to it, I'm now seeing it more and more on you tube and on amazon for * things you might like*

Anyone using this stuff? has it given your mouse a new lease in life? Basically is it worth it??

Cheers

My mouse came with some in the box, I put them on to try and I've stuck with them, I've not done it for the increase of 'flick shot's and all that stuff that the fps youtubers push but they feel nicer in the hand and stop the plastics on the mouse being 'worn' as I can buy replacement ones if these wear down. Been fitted for over 12 months and no fade at all as yet.

Guess it depends what mouse you have
Got 4 different mice
Out of those I would say only my glorious model I 2
Definitely I should get some grip tape
The plastic is way too shiny/slippy
The others all have some sort of rubberised parts
As default

It might also depend how you hold the mouse
I only use fingertips
So less contact area with the mouse
Which doesn't really help

For me it's less about grip and more about feel, they just add a layer of cushion that feels comfortable and protects the mouse button surface from getting shiny from the hundreds of thousands of clicks they will endure each year resulting in them going shiny, and protects them from skin oils/moisturiser or alcohol from hand gels etc which will wear down the plastic.

Pulsar Supergrips as a universal. The multi-size pack will have options for all mice and grip needs. I use them on my mice and keyboard too. You can also get a single large sheet so can cut to whatever shape you want.

I've also got other precut grip tapes and nothing seems to beat Supergrips as they are thin, more grippy and have a smoother surface texture too.

Supergrips are also easy to remove and re-use, I clean them from time to time with antibac wipes which works well.

That's the complete opposite way of looking at it though.

Every single mouse on the planet is enhanced in some way for people using grip tape, though it does depend on the grip tape variant. Supergrips are thin enough and tacky enough to aid in feel and grip more than others. It has nothing to do with the mouse not being the right mouse etc, and above all else, they stop the main mouse buttons from going shiny over time on the most pressed area.

If you've never used them before then give it a try, because you just don't know until you do.

Take the most ergo productivity mouse ever made for example, and most would agree it's also the most comfortable using premium materials, the MX Master 3S, yet even that benefits from MB1/MB2 grips to improve the tackines grip on the buttons and general feel as the fingers rest on the buttons naturally.
