Mouse is being a ****

Hi all.

I've got a razer copperhead, and it's being a ****.

Basically, razer configurator isn't recognising the mouse. The mouse occasionally turns off every now and then, for about 2 seconds, at which point windows finds it again, I hear the "ba-bum!" and the lights turn back on and it begins working again, I feel this must be related. This is very annoying for fps gaming (and of course any gaming) and I have to reset the on the fly-dpi again every time it happens.

Drivers and firmware (after a couple of attempts) has updated successfully (I say after a couple of attempts, the razer-software seems to enjoy bluescreening me, this is the only time my computer actually does bluescreen).

Anyone else ever had these troubles, or any suggestions to fix this? Seriously, I love razer products, but I'm not going to buy anything of theirs again simply because the software is so shocking.

Hmm, when I go ctrlpanel>hardware and sound>mouse under the hardware tab, the only device is HID-compliant mouse. This is indeed the only mouse listed in the device manager, but under human interface devices is listed "Razer Copperhead USB Mouse".

Should this be what is found in the mouse properties instead? There is no way of changing it.

I don't know if power saving will have anything to do with it simply for the fact that the mouse is on almost all of the time yet the razer config never detects it.

If it comes to it, I will, certainly not another razer at least. The less expensive option of finding a fix for this is priority though! And yes, the hatred for my mouse (or more, the software) is high at the moment!

Oh the sweet sweet irony...

My cat just brought me a live mouse, it ran off and for the life of me I cant find it...

Little ****....

Must be something in the water... My rat went mental in its cage earlier this week, then it just stopped what it was doing and froze in shock. Weird times!

Wow. Just wow. My mouse just turned off and then on again, I looked in the config, and low and behold, it's now found it, for the first time in ages, without me changing anything.

I give up, this clearly isn't a problem which makes any sense.

When this happened to mine, it was basically some fractured/broken wires in the cable near the part where it connects to the mouse (and not visible in terms of damage to the eye).

I put up with it for a while, even contorted the cable to give it an extra lease of life, until it was too much of a liability and I trashed it for a £3 MS Mouse and never felt happier.

However - I did love (metaphorically!) my copperhead and thus the MS Mouse has since been retired for a cable-less Mamba. Problem solved (kinda).
