Mouse is snapping to taskbar

My mouse is currently stuck on the taskbar. I played some wildlands, the mouse was working fine. When I quit the game, the mouse is snapping to the task bar. I can move it but it immediately snaps back to the taskbar. Interestingly the point it snaps to has moved from the right hand side near the icons for Windows Defender etc to nearer the centre of the task bar.

When I restart the mouse momentarily works on the desktop (literally less than a second) and then it snaps to the taskbar. Mouse works fine in the bios- Is it some kind of Windows or Windows Driver issue?

I've run Windows Defender

Not really sure where to go from here!

uninstall mouse software?

Few things to try just to make sure it's not hardware.

Try it in a different USB port. If results are the same, Try it in a difference pc.

Try launching in safe mode just to see.
