Ive noticed it before in the past and just kinda put up with it...

Now Ive just installed Dead Space and got about 2 minutes into before the mouse/look delay has annoyed me enough to make me quit :|

Its not an FPS problem, Im Running a Q6600 and a GTX260 and Im not exactly using the highest settings either. You can also feel the mouse delay in the menus before you even start the game so that would seem to indicate its nothing to do with FPS.

Its just an annoying delay! Had the same in Farcry2 and other games :/ Is there something to enable/disable to get the mouse to feel more responsive?

Yeah, Farcry2 menu was worse in the menus than in the game but I still noticed it in the game :/

Dead Space seems a lot worse though :| its all very elastic. You move and it feels like the camera view is moved by elastic bands :/ starts slow and then catches up.

Annoying!

Yep, unless you get bad screen tearing you should always disable vsync to reduce 'mouse' lag (it's actually a delay in the screen rendering, but it's most noticeable when moving the mouse).

Also make sure you disable any 'mouse smoothing' options in your games.

Finally if you are running with a high framerate and refresh rate you may see a benefit from overclocking your USB mouse sampling rate, default is 125hz but you can change it up to 250, 333, 500 or 1000hz.

Yeah, my mouse is already at 1000mhz sampling cos its set in the control panel for the mouse ( Roccat Kone )

It seems silly that you have to turn stuff off to make the game work properly :/ but I guess itll do!

Dead Space definitely seems a lot better with VSync off.

Another gripe Ive got with the game, when you go into aim mode, your sensitivity is reduced to 0.1 :P
