I have no idea why but I have a Logitech anywhere MX (which is awesome) and for some reason the past few days its been jumping/stopping every so often and its getting quite annoying now, it does it even moreso when the system is doing something (extracting etc)

I can't put it down to any reason, the battery health is 95%, it does the same with or without a mouse mat, the drivers are installed.

Any ideas what could cause this?

I cant go from one end of the screen to another without it looking as if its catching inbetween

Have you been into 'Mouse Properties' to check if settings have been altered in any way?

Not sure which system you are using, XP - Vista - Win7, but whichever one just look for mouse properties usually from control panel then check for settings in there. sometimes update downloads from Microsoft can alter settings and they need adjusting again. ;)

Well... if the mouse is laggy during CPU-intensive tasks, it could be that the CPU is maxed out - if you can identify which process contains the USB Mouse drivers, you could set it to a higher priority, which would fix this problem.

Is it laggy only when the CPU is under load, or all the time?

win7, its the Logitech Anywhere MX, the small darkfield technology one.

no different settings or anything will help

it also lags more when downloading... weird

wilko - all the time, just moreso when the CPU is being used or there is data transfer, but its a i7 2.8 ocd to 4ghz, the cpu is rarely at full load

setting the drivers to a higher priority might still help, but it is unlikely...
did you try reinstalling drivers as crisbduck said?
can you check that the mouse works on a different machine?
do you have another mouse that you could try?
