I have a g700 logitech mouse. Its recently started causing problems. As you left click it actually clicks twice. So if i simple select a file it will actually open it. This doesnt happen every time i click but every so often.

However since raising an RMA request with the company i got it off, its stopped doing this.

I had the same problem with the mx518, finally replaced it with this..

Had the same problem with my Razer Copperhead recently, totally unusable. But that mouse has long been banished to just another laptop mouse duty so I never put any time into finding the cause.

Still wouldn't mind knowing if there is a quick fix to mice having this problem or I can just throw it finally.

Funnily enough I've got the same problem with my MX Revolution, though that's years old now. Every mouse I've had over the years I've had to replace for this exact same reason.

I would say yes, RMA it, as the problem will come back and will get more and more annoying.

My only concern sending it back is that they wont be able to replicate the issue. However a quick google search shows how common this double clicking issue is, especially with logitech mice. So they're probably aware of this issue as its quite common.

I'll send it off tomorrow.
