I am looking for a new mouse for my 3D work.

Most are aimed towards the gaming market.

The only one I have been happy with apart from the 3D Connexion series, is the Wacom CAD version, but I do not want to buy another tablet and Connexion do not support my 3D package.

I just bought a Razer Copperhead, but this is geared towards gaming, so I am again in the market for a 3D mouse.

I have both a 3d connexion and a nulooq (the linked item) The nulooq is 2d only and doesn't work well with vista, it's also aimed more at photoshop etc. The 3d connexion navigators are not really a mouse, they don't do the movements across the screen (drivers mainly), they are generally used for moving in a 3d environment. I'm surprised your app isn't supported though .

As to mouse, its a personal thing and its best to hold a mouse to see how it feels. I personally use a ms natual wireless laser mouse 6000 for my work (CAD based too) although it will take a little getting used to as its a different design of mouse to the 'usual' style.

I use Lightwave3D.
There is probably a work around but its a lot of £'s for something that is not certified by connexion. Some software is supported straight away. 3Dcoat a recent example, but my guess is Newtek are the ones holding things up and as this has been so for years I will not be holding my breath.

I really like the design of the Wacom CAD having three buttons on top and the scroll at the side. I guess I must be in a minority as it is the only one I can find.

I'll check the ms 6000 and the nulooq out.

They tested one on the gadget show two weeks ago which looked great for 3D work, but cant remember what it was called.

EDIT:
Oh yes it was the 3DConnexion SpaceNavigator. LOL which you already have.

I thouhgt you were looking for a 'Mouse only for 3D work'. And then you will have to have another mouse for normal use.

If I can find a good 3D Mouse it will also be good for normal work
.
I pretty much think they do not exist as most mouses are aimed at gamers.

The best and so far only one I have found is the Wacom CAD.
