I have a logitech mx1000, had it for about 2 1/2 years. I guess about a year ago or so the side buttons which you use your thumb for started playing up, didnt always work and had to press them down harder.

I lived with this for awhile but it now seems the buttons have packed up completly.

I was just wondering, is there any chance i can get a replacement from logitech?

It will depend on how long your warrenty is, but it sounds like if it's still within the time limit you're well within your rights to get a replacement.

I read ages ago that if you ever get a replacement from logitech, that they make you cut off the ends of wires so you cant re use them lol. Sounds stupid but is it true?

There's been a few threads in here about what people have done to their logitech returns to render them unusable. I'm sure there was one that involved running a mouse or something over with his car..

I'll be spending a couple of months soon at a place that handles some of logitechs RMA's so I'll have to ask if they have any good stories.

PK!

This is true as i have written it :)
I rang them about my Momo & the guy said No probs matey we'll send you a knew one out. Only problem it will be a European one so the box writing will be in double dutch & you'll have to use your power box off the old one.
Sweet i says, What do you want me to do with the old one as it's only the pedals that are faulty the wheel is perfect.
Just cut the USB plug off & sling it in the bin mate is what he said
Ok mate I'll throw a decent Momo into the bin then & send you a USB plug :D
Logitech aftersales are Superb & only 2nd to NEC/Mitsubishi.
I rang them about my mouse pads, No worrys mate we'll send you a new set out, K Thanks Bye, No charge.
If i was you I'd ring them & see what they say & I wouldn't be at all surprised if they sent you a new one & asked for the USB plug off the old one.
Logitech make brilliant products & look after there customers Perfectly.
I have done my bit over the years telling folk about them so Everyones a winner
