Mouse Problem!

Ok this might be difficult to explain.

Mouse - Logitech MX518 (Setpoint drivers installed - also tried without)

The problem is my mouse forgets I have clicked. For example on the desktop if i try to drag an icon the pointer will 'drop' it halfway through sometimes.

The same problem occurs in games - but not always. If i host my own server in a first person shooter game i can hold left click and 'spray' the gun normally.

If i then try a game with other people online the problem starts. When i hold left click the gun will stop shooting even when the click is pressed down.

Its weird how the mouse does not display the same behaviour in all situations and certain things make it worse.

Any ideas?

The online gaming part of things just sounds like lag to me.

Can you try the mouse on another computer? If it's happening on another computer then contact Logitech and get a replacement.

I've had the same problem with a logitech G7 for along time, its been used on multiple installs of windows on my old rig and now new sandy rig so im pretty sure its the mouse and im guessing yours is the same thing.

ps. i also get a double click a lot when i've only clicked once, think this is the same kind of issue

The mouse buttons feel fine so it doesn't seem its a mechanical failure so atm i've no idea as to the cause

The double click issue is common. My Dad recently had the issue with his revolution. They recommended cleaning the mouse out with compressed air, if that didn't work then they'd replace it.
