Lately my mouse seems to have a mind of it's own, it moves it's self and even randomly clicks things too, which of course sometimes opens or closes programs and changes settings.

Someone has said to me that because it's an optical mouse there could be interference from other stuff in my room (such as TV, DVD and consoles) is this possible or is the mouse just faulty?

When you see it moving around and clicking on things - does it appear to be doing it with purpose?

Ghosts I'd say :p

Although my mx510 moves by itself, but only very slowly across the screen. No idea why though

What mouse have you got?

It seems completely random, sometimes when I have the cursor in the centre of the screen just about to click on a link or something it will jolt the cursor into one of the bottom corners, there's been times when I've gone downstairs to get something and when I've came back up the start menu is open or once it even muted the sound.

Maybe I have a ghost in the house....

It's a Belkin wireless optical mouse, came as a set with wireless keyboard too.

I don't know if there's any proper name for it, I'm having a look now.
