Mouse problems

Weird one this. My mouse decides to double click sometimes when I only singlw click. I have changed the timing and it has no bearing at all.
Most of the time it doesn't matter except when I'm using MS Calculator and extra digits appear on screen - any ideas?
BTW it is a Logitech MX 610 Laser and the software is not installed.

Just tried an old PS"2 wired mouse and it's perfect. Put the Logitech back and every 5th. press (approx) it double clicks.

It's because there's dirt in the microswitch, bang the offending mouse button and it should sort it out (this has worked on several mice).

how strange! I've been tearing my hair out all day as my mouse has been playing up.. MX500 probably nearing 3 years old...searched OCUK for "mouse" to look for some suggestions towards a replacement and I found this thread.

Gave the mouse a good bang and its back to its perfect self!
