Hello,
I currently have a Logitech MX1000 mouse which is great but the buttons click seems to be dieing and it is about time for a replacement mouse and found the Logitech G7 which seemed great but that has now gone out of manufacturing so thats out of the question now and prices on E-Bay have skyrocketed for it. Therefore I am asking you guys if there is any mouse with the following features I could have as a replacement for my current MX1000.

- Must be wireless with good responsiveness
- Laser
- Rechargeable -preferably like the G7 with two batteries to swap in and out
- 4 way scroll
- Anything else is a bonus¬

Thanks

Regards,
Neil

The MX100 is great and why are people so negative about wireless mice and responsiveness. Are we not in an age where technology gets better as time goes on? If you buy a high quality mouse then surely it's responsiveness is going to be better than a £20 wireless mouse and the MX100 is a high quality mouse and have had no issues such as the mouse cursor not moving as soon as it is touched after a period of non use.

Thanks

Neil

i have an mx1000 never had any problems with it.

Out of interest which buttons are dying? is it lmb or rmb. My thumb buttons dont work at all anymore :(

It's the left mouse button. I try to select a line of text and it either doesn;t start selecting at the right place or cuts out half way through.

Thanks

Neil

nope, not really, the only games I play from time to time is one of the rct series to try soem of the new announcements on the atari forums and thats only every once in a while. So you think I should try the logitech Revolution? Does anyone know when the next wave of logitech mice will be announced?

Thanks

Neil

There is no one like that.

i dont like wireless mice. they let me down. ive had an mx518 for a few years, pretty much perfect in every way untill i broke the scroll wheel lol. now ive gone for a g9. i tried the g7, it was fine as a mouse but wireless = lag, cant really get around it.

so wireless technology doesnt introduce lag?

If done well then it will not be noticable by human senses,

lol anyway, wire = no interference = no lag. it just wont be beaten lol

No wire = no external pressure on mouse and no catching of mouse cable on things.

Nothing to do with wont be beaten, it's purely personal tastes.

As said already, get G5 if you want to play games.

For other than games I guess than any wireless will do, even the 10quid one.

And if you got cabling problems than it's time for a new desk / cable management lesson ;-). It has not much to do with the mice itself unless you got 1m cable.

wireless allways introduces lag due to inherent flaws in its tech atm. your looking a a few (~20-30ms i believe) that, combined with ping, monitor response time and input response time all combines to more lag = bad.

Wired = good

Wrong, wireless introduces about 3ms, much more than that and you have issues.

Wireless.....hmmmi went back to cable... recharging it whilst playing BF2 was well annoying.

But i did hear the G7 is ment to be good

Yup, the G7 had two fast swap batteries to combat just that issue, you could swap them out in seconds. Such a pity Logitech have discontinued it over here :(

Never had any troubles with my Mx1000.
feet have been replaced by logitech a few times, both my power adapters have also been replaced, both mice still running strong.

G7 had 2 fast swap batteries, the Mx1000 didnt but I had a fast swap MX1000 thanks to the MM xD

These mice have seen me thru multiple games CS, CSS, HL/HL2, BF2, Guildwars, RF Online, Age of Conan... So yes some need fast reactivity from the mouse the others not as much but I can say Ive never really noticed any isuses with input lag at all.

If you can find a replacement Mx1000 on MM grab it, also have you tried contacting Logitech? theyve been damn good with my RMA's which include.. Replacement feet for both mice multiple times, replacement adapters for both mice and a replacement G15 (slightly miffed they sent the V2 orange thing but its still a nice keyboard).
