Mouse Required - £50 budget

WHat's the scroll wheel like on the MX Rev? I had to replace my MX1000 a few months back and went with an MS Laser 5000 which is OK, battery life is far better than the MX1000 but the scroll wheel is really annoying because it's just smooth so flipping between photos in Lightroom or AcdSee is nigh on impossible. Hence I'm after a new wireless mouse with an old fashioned bumpy scroll wheel.

shop around and get an mx revoloution

it has a smooth wheel, then when u press the wheel its bumpy, best of both worlds :)

To add to previous post about the razer - it also has a 24 click scroll wheel (minus irritating clicking sound but still a very positive distinction between positions) and the sensitivity adjustment is on the fly and does not require reboot.

my death adder has a very smoothe scrool with no clicks.

Yup a lachesis will set you back £50 or thereabouts. I think mine is worth every penny however. The GF thought I was stupid to pay that for a new mouse (albeit my antique boomslang had just packed up on one button hehe) until she saw the lachesis come out of the box....... now she wants one to replace her G5, particularly as the blue light version will match her Eclipse keyboard (cos its the colour that counts right hehe?)

Nice kit - very similar to the DeathAdder bigdave mentions - just a bigger dpi which might be useful on that dual screen setup - and ridiculously luscious velvet smooth mattblack coating..... mmm!

The death adder has the same coating does it not? Feels really strange, hard to explain. Comfortable and doesn't feel like plastic.

The lachesis is ment to be less comfortable then the death adder say others who have had both. And i cant see anyone needing over 1000dpi lol. Unless you need the extra buttons its probably a waste.

But either way id get one of the two, i love it for broswing fromig from a crappy logitech one that was 3 years old its just effortless when browsing.

I prefer having it set so that when you use it slowly it clicks, then when you use the wheel quickly, the clicks turn off, and it goes into free wheel.

i would suggest the G5, although i havent used the second revision of it, i have used the first revision and the G7 both of which are very similar. i also suggest going to a retailer and trying one first.

it features dpi switching up to 2000 dpi and should be within your budget (depending on where you purchase from)

Same here, I'd rather have the second edition too (2 side buttons would be nice), brilliant mouse, although I rarely use the dpi switch.

I had an MX revolution and had big issues with it when my wireless network was on, have gone back to wired (G9) and find that much better.
