Every now and then for no apparent reason my Mouse (6 year old Logitec Mouseman Optical USB) will not work on Boot-up of my System!...

Could it be the fact that its 6 years old and is on its way out?.

Or is it a fundimental problem with the USB?, be it on Microsoft's side (XP-Home SP2), Logitec's Side (Latest Logitec Drivers) or even Abit (My Mobo is a NF8-v2 with all the latest nF250 Drivers and BIOS)...

I need to prove to the wife that I didn't muck up the Mouse by installing a dual boot to Ubuntu (Seperate HD etc...).

Thing is!.. When Windows has finished booting, and if the mouse isn't active, all I need to do is unplug the USB and plug it back in!... everything seems hunky dory for at least a cuple of weeks if not months!...

Cheers
Sim.

.. also have you re-installed windows recently? Is your windows disk the original version (i.e. no SP slipstreamed)? and did you install the Nforce 3 drivers without loading SP1/SP2 first?.

If so...
Windows XP users must install Service Pack 1, at a minimum, prior to attempting to install this package. Failure to do so will result in the inability to support USB 2.0.

has caught a few people out in the past :)
