Just recently my G5 (the one with only 1 thumb button, orange colour) has started to play up, in that when I click and hold the LMB, occasionally it will release the click and then re-apply it in a split second. For example, drawing a selection box on my desktop, every so often it will stop manipulating the current box and start another one, just as if you released and re-applied the LMB. I hope you understand that :).

Anyway, I think the mouse is less than three years old and I got it from OCUK (I can probably check), is there any way to fix this or would I be able to get it replaced under warranty? If not, I would buy a new mouse so any suggestions there? I've been searching and the MX518 seems to be popular, and it is the same shape with two thumb buttons, so that's a plus. However, it seems to be cheaper than the G5 (the blue one at least) so would it be a downgrade?

Thanks for any help.

It may be worth updating the Logitech SetPoint software since a recent Vista update (or something else) may have affected the mouse in some way.

As for a new mouse, I have the G5 v2, and I love it. Other than that make sure you get one with 2 side buttons this time, since 1 is so limiting.
