The mouse I'm currently using is Logitech G400 1 gen.

G400 is a very good mouse but the ergonomics of the mouse IMO are terrible, I use to switch between g400 to IE 3.0 for some games... From the mouses I played around with and liked the ergonomics of it were SS ikari and Corsair (can't remember which one it was, but it had a red button on the side).

Buttons: standard 3 buttons and on the side back and forward button, it would be nice if the mouse had sensitivity change on the go button but it's not necessary.
Sensitivity: I'm a low sensitivity person and I don't usually go past 1000dpi in games, back in the day of CS 1.6 I use to play with 400dpi and 1.5 ingame windows 5/11.
Handgrip: Usually its palm but during the gaming it changes depending on the game, so its hard to say exactly.
Budget: £50 (£5-/+)

1st day I got the IE 3.0 :D

Razer Death Adders are the ones for me.

I would agree if it was the old 1800dpi model ;)

That's fine - you can setup custom profiles and choose any DPI from 100 through to its max:

But laser usually needs a good surface to work properly, I prefer optical as my mouse mats aren't always clean because the are cotton. Lasers from my experience usually prefer harder surface and you need to keep it clean otherwise it behaves weird during faster moves.

I went from an IE 3.0 to a Sensei and absolutely love it :)

Have steelseries products improved over the time? My ikari wasn't exactly trouble-free, the drivers weren't stable either... The only thing I liked the most was the finish and ergonomics. :)

So it's between Zowie FK1 vs Mionix Naos 7000 (This is soo similiar to ikari :O :D) vs Qpad OM-75 or other model with same ergonomics.

The thing I like about RAT is that its very adjustable, but I'm not sure if the steel/aluminium feel would work for me in the long run.

Edit

My hand came out retarded on the pic, but it's hard to take a picture with my left hand especially when the camera button is on the right...

I've average size hands, 19cm from the middle finger to the base.

love the intelli mouse but couldn't deal with the prediction or acceleration from a 518 or the high arch in the back

I got use to it over the time, but in modern games 400dpi isn't enough for me that's why I need an upgrade.

Zowie FK1 vs Miniox Naos 7000 are my favourites, now I need to decided which one to buy.

think I run on 1200 dpi and in game sense of 0.7 on cs

used to run much faster

In all other games i pretty much lower the sense to as low as possible then adjust DPI to suit

My CS 1.6 settings
640x480 or 800x600 (current)
400dpi windows 5/11 and in-game 1.5 (zoom-sens ratio 1.0)
500hz

CS:GO
1024x768
800dpi (Yeah, I've to use g400...) and in-game I'm stilling fiddling with it so between 0.7-1.0 and zoom ratio 0.9
Windows 5/11
500hz

Other modern games is usually 800dpi and then adjusting in-game, bf3 is 800dpi and 0.55 sens in-game 1920x1080.
Windows 6/11

Mionix Naos 7000. Absolutely superb mouse though I think I'm more of a claw gripper now so going to pick up an Avior.
Should I keep an eye on the MM? :D I think the Naos will be the perfect mouse for me, awesome sensor with the same ergonomics as my ikari... none of the mouses previously used fit my hand soo perfectly.

Deffo keep an eye out but even new they are only a fiver over your budget, id just buy one

I know, but it was more of a sarcastic question towards hes statement about changing Naos for Avior. I would still buy it, if the mouse was only just bought and is probably in mint condition. :)

Fair point, any closer on deciding?
I think it has to be Miniox Naos, but I never had a mouse similiar to the ones mentioned by david (by that I mean the shape). But I miss soo much the ergonomics of ikari, once I buy a mouse will update this thread.

p.s. What are the 3 mouses you talked about previously? Just curios :p

I say the following in most mouse posts, but it seems very relevant in this case, since the OP specifically mentions FPS (and in particular, Counter-Strike) gameplay...

I like the following mice for FPSing:

* Zowie FK 2014 (marginally smaller and lighter than the FK1).
* Zowie FK1 (marginally bigger and heavier than the FK 2014).
* Zowie AM Full Black Rubberised (marginally higher and wider than the FK's.)
* SteelSeries Sensei Raw Black Rubberised. (This is SteelSeries' best mouse in my opinion. I personally prefer the shape/build of this laser-sensored Sensei to the optical-sensored Rival.)

All are ambidextrous/symmetrical, and all sport a similar shape to the Microsoft Intellimouse 1.1 (original off-white with silver left/right buttons). (That's a good thing I'd say, as the Microsoft Intellimouse 1.1 arguably had a classic shape, which most people should find comfortable to use.)

All can be claw-gripped. The AM or Sensie Raw also lend themselves to a palm grip.

All have what I would call "no nonsense" designs. The Sensie Raw is the most elaborate in that it has a light and a CPI-shifter near the mouse-wheel. (Personally, I switch the light off, and set both CPI settings to the same, to avoid an unintentional shift in CPI.)

I currently use the Sensei Raw, but my next mouse will most probably be the FK1. I've heard people criticise the sensor in the Senseir Raw (due to it being laser, and not optical), but personally, I've had no problems whatsoever with it. That said, if SteelSeries brought a high-quality optical-sensored Sensei Raw to market, I'd probably pick it up.

Just my 2 cents.

Cheers, but I'm not buying another laser mouse, for higher sens people these mouses are more accurate but for me as a low sens gamer optical all the way ;)

I'm gonna go ahead and throw in a vote for the Mionix mice. Simple and good quality.

The Naos, my Sensei Wireless and a Logitech G502 Proteus core. Got the Proteus core up in the MM if that's of any interest to you?

I really like my Sensei wireless but the second Mionix release their 'concept' wireless mouse that charges through induction through the mat I'll be all over it.

That said the Avior is calling....did you get my trust message?

Big thanks for that trust messag! :D

I particularly like the SK livery, you can disable the side buttons if the ambidextrous design becomes an issue

It lights up just like the standard version, the buttons might be a pain in the butt. But still I don't regret buying this, I just hope mouses like Naos will be still produced in the future as the ergonomics IMHO are amazing. Anyway we aren't going to be at a big loss while selling the mouse if we don't like them :p

Using Razer Abyssus for past 3 years.
It haven't died on me, after hours of hardcore gaming.
I think it is way past those guaranteed few milion clicks and still going strong.
But I am planning to change for new evga torq mouse.
I am evga fan and would like to try something new.

Have a look HERE, its a decent guide.

Going back to that EVGA X10 mouse it has Avago 9800 which in some peoples experience had mouse acceleration, but that's not surprising since it is a laser mouse and not optical. The shape is weird... maybe not weird but different, what grip do you use most of the time (check the link if you aren't sure)?

Edit

Considering your previous mouse is/was Abyssus you're using fingertip grip?

Was it the Mionix Avoir 7000?

I've never really heard of this brand/model before, but after doing some reading on it, it looks like a good ambidextrous/symmetrical + optical choice.

Might add that to my list of "next mice"... :D

Late response as I got banned... :p

The Mionix Avior 7000 uses ADNS 3310 (Same as the one I bought), but the only difference is that my is Special edition (not really a difference). I will post some pics of the mouse next to G400, Ikari and IE 3.0 when it comes and give my opinion on the mouse after 2 weeks ;)

Edit

Strangely my order got canceled and the price rised up... so I'll be ordering Mionix Naos 7000

Ok, I have ordered the Zowie FK1 just a second ago, it was a hard decision between Mionix and Zowie. But I never had a mouse with this sort of shape and I can always compare it to my old ikari which is pretty much this same, as Naos 7000.

I'm going to send it back, not the shape I'm after... The mouse is good, but just doesn't suit me.

Mionix Naos 7000 will be the next mouse. :)
