for the past 4-5 weeks my logitech mx510 optical mouse is playing up it doesnt seem to be working smoothly anymore:

fps games: my aiming has gotten quite bad with this mouse as it feels like i cant aim it where i want, its hard to explain but it feels a bit robotic so its like slow and sometimes where i want to aim it feels hard to get the crosshair there.

Just now i was browsing the forums and i didnt touch my mouse and i just watched my curser by itself go all the way down the screen really slowly.
Its not doing it now i think that was just a one off.

Ive tried cleaning the mouse just rubbing off any dirt and stuff off the bottom of the mouse ive cleaned the mousemat and blown into the red light underneath and removed 1 or 2 little bits of hair but still no luck. Also ive dl the latest drivers still no difference :(

Do the usual, try that mouse in a different pc, and a different mouse in that pc.
See if that helps narrow it down a bit :)

My Logitech does the same thing, its quite annoying. I have had mine for about... 4-5 years though. How long you had yours?

I have been thinking about upgrading too, mice are pretty expensive compared to a few years ago though! Just been looking at some of the prices

about 2-3 years now yes they are expensive but really good now :)

I've had a simmiler but more extreame problem with my mx510 (even though i've only had it a few months).

At times the cursor seems to go crazy randomly left/right clicking and fast moving only in the x/y directions. I can stop the moving if i turn it upside down but the clicking continues for a while. Once it stops the sensitivity is much reduced, but it seem to reset if i un and replug it.

I've got the latest drivers and run lots of virus scans so its unlikely to be that.

Is it b0rked?
