Mouse wont move on screen

Mouse won't move from the middle of the screen.

When I move the mouse it moves about an inch then goes straight back to where it was.
On windows 10

Any ideas

What mouse is it? Does it come with extra software?

And just to be on the safe side... disconnect the PC from the internet and see if it still happens.

I have tried with two different mouses. One is a bog-standard Microsoft mouse so no drivers needed.

If only it was that simple. Never seen this before...

Have you tried it yet with the internet disconnected? Just in case it's a rogue remote software locking the mouse.

Yes. Not sure if it was that or the umpteenth restart, but it's now working.
