Might be mundane but i think i need a mousemat - a decent one

I dont normally or shall i say never used a mousemate but my MX revolution is skipping about due to the surface finish of my desk. I thought the answer would be the Performance MX which ive had for a few days now. It works but i prefer the functionality of the MX so will soon be selling the Perf MX but need to know what mousemat to buy to go with the MX Rev.

I dont really game unless you call the odd CSS round gaming but more for CAD. Defintely frustrating if u want to play well and the mouse starts skipping or doesnt pick up....

So what is it to be, inital google search suggests Razer ones or a Lamborghini leather one?!

I would recommend the Razer Goliathus. Huge mat but worth the money imo. I usually dust it off when i take it round the parents house :p

I had the Goliathius and the Boogiebug and upgraded to the Razer Destructor and it's the best :)

Peeps with the Goliathus and eXactamat how long have you had them for? any parts appearing to be worn down to smoth patches?

Had my eXactmat for 2 years and it hasn't worn down at all. Not even had to clean it. The rubber grips are still in place too :)

Up until recently I would have said that I prefer hard mats to cloth but now I'm not so sure. Not so long ago I bought a Qpad hard mat, very good despite not being a cloth one. Have gone back to my razer mantis cloth mat, works better with my Death Adder than with the Qpad. Btw, I've had my cloth mat for nearly four years and its still going strong. Think I bought that when I first bought my G5. Mine still looks not much more worn than when I originally purchased it! :)

I have a "Terratec Mystify" mouse mat (25cm x 15cm). Its either gone smooth or the G5's teflon feet have lost their slipperyness. It sticks solid if u apply downward force. I heard if u ask logitech for some more feet they send u some?

There are some real sticking points and my desk is a lot easier to run your hand across.

Might go for the Razer Destructor as recommended a few posts above. At £26 though, an investment.

Iv used a few Razer mats with Razer mice and always had skipping problems, changed to a Steelseries 5L with my old copperhead and it improved it hugely.

Im using a Steelseries 9HD mat with a Steelseries Xai now. I'd definitely have a look at the Steelseries range sooner than the Razer.
