Mousepad squeaking

If I press really quickly in one particular spot the touchpad press to click on my laptop squeaks a little. It doesn’t happen all the time. The laptop is rather new. From experience is this just friction or a faulty mousepad? The clicks work fine and rarely happens, but I did notice it earlier on.

Update: Issue resolved.

My other Lenovo laptops make exactly the same sound in the same spot, hence why the issue is resolved. Thanks guys. I had never used the touchpad before on them really, always use an external mouse.

Yep haha, seems so. Just never noticed it as I said because of my external mouse.

This is a novel use of the word resolved. I would have gone with "same as the others so can't be arsed"

I’m not really sure why people are still commenting? It’s nothing to do with ‘same as the others so can’t be arsed’.

I reached out to Lenovo and tried another laptop and it’s the same, it’s part of the design. Lenovo have assured me it’s normal.

How is that not resolved as I put it?

As a newbie I’m a bit surprised I have to say.

Apologies if that came across a bit short, but I do find it a bit rude for people to say it’s a novel use of the word resolved and that I should have gone with ‘can’t be arsed’ as that’s completely untrue and is not helpful.

I said the issue was resolved and it is.
