Hi all,

i'll cut to the chase, my current house (student renting) has mice!
my housemate noticed this and put down poison, but cause he is a complete spack when it comes to house cleanliness, forgot to pick up the rotting tomato next to the poison that he left on the floor the week before!

now since i heard about this ive cleaned the living room and kitchen (the 2 places they've (only 1 mouse at a time) been spotted.. and i barely found any mouse droppings, so i dont think its a case of call the exterminator yet.

since clearing the kitchen we've had a tray of poison down that I'VE been having to refill every morning pretty much!
a mouse was spotted in the living room about an hour ago, but the person that saw it just carried on watching TV and ignored it!

does anybody in the know, or anybody that has had a similar problem know of the best traps/poisons or what have you to buy?

Cheers

Judgeing by your sig you have an airsoft gun, nuff said :p.

On a more serious note, if your in uni accom, surely you can go through the university and they will sort it out for you? If not then whoever the landlord is.

didnt want to mention the airsofting... but the Infinity is in the kitchen fully loaded and fully gassed for such occasions!

its not accomodation through the uni, its through an estate agents, and we dont really want to have to get them involved if possible, they are renowned (sp) for ripping people out of their deposits for such things!

Get one of those high frequency sound emitting plugs that scares mice. Worked for me.

we found a kiwi that had been nibbled last week, have 3 traps down, the ones that go crunch lol... use toffee not cheese, only had one set off and only got its leg, i was on PC at the time, let it outside, no trouble since touch wood....

my internet is going really slowly today, so this is taking ages to load... first snippet i get is

"you KNOW the best way to get rid of mice, is from orbit"

and start to laugh... then chuck norris! i thought that fad has blown over... my housemate has a "WWCN" do t shirt!

Rincewind : surely letting it outside... to come straight back in! defeats the point?
i plan on a swift killing (humanely) as soon as its caught if its alive!

exactly, and who can think of a more humane way of killing a small rodent than a 1 megaton atomic weapon

Ive done the poison thing, had a breeding pair and didn't find them for ages, they made a next in my old AV Subwoofer

Poison is bad if the little bugger snuff it somewhere awkward, luckily this didn't happen in our case and we disposed of the corpses (and the sub)
