.mov file problems!

Hi All,

I've got a pair of .mov files which I am struggling to play back, they were made using a Contour GPS.

When I look at them, they say they are roughly 1.5gb, but when I go to play them back (vlc) it just sits there saying 00:00/00:00 (basically saying there is zero seconds of video available).

Any ideas of how to get these working? Any software that I can run them through? I've tried playing them back via the Contour software at it does something similar.

I can extract the GPS information, which shows correctly, so something must be there. :confused:

Other files recorded on it play back fine.

This is rather annoying.

See if it makesanay difference playing them using quicktime.

Load up Gspot, You should then be able to determine what codec is used inside the Mov container.

Also Potplayer from my experience handles random codec types better than vlc these days.

Hey, thanks for the reply.

I've actually managed to solve it using Video Repair Tool 1.7.5.1, it's worked a treat! Had to spend £30 or so, but it's recovered the video and saved my bacon!

It used a reference file from a working piece of video, and then compared that to the damaged one, changed some stuff and got it going. Mint.
