Really though, Pop OS is very over-rated. It's even been described as the prettiest OS ever. Well Gnome ain't my definition of pretty, and I prefer an OS as far away from Ubuntu as possible.
Yeah you don't need to stick with Gnome, and you can change anything you like to make it how you want, but then you probably don't know how to, and if you did, you'd likely be a power user and build something from scratch.
I think Pop OS is ok for someone who wants a Windows replacement and doesn't know much about Linux though. However, they will run into problems, just far later than something like Arch.
