Does anyone know of any half decent software (or even a webpage with instructions) that details how you can migrate your firefox user settings from Windows into Linux; most importantly the stored passwords.

In order to fully convert the g/f to the darkside I need to drag her firefox profile for XP to Linux and she's hopeless with passwords and they're all locked inside her firefox configuration.

While she could well do the "password" reminder on a website by website basis, I'm thinking there must be something out there to do this automagically.

Firefox profiles are usually found in

C: / Documents and Settings/user/Application Data/Mozilla/Firefox/Profiles/

Just find the file and then in your Linux dump it in

/home/<username>/.mozilla/firefox/

Should work :)

Might not though :p

The "Might not though" is just my way of saying "I haven't actually tried this" but there is no reason why it shouldn't.

it worked for me. i just manually edited my prefs.js to remove any settings that point to the windows filesystem. all extensions/cookies/passwords were fine. :)

Result! Thanks chaps! Much appreciated. Didn't think it was going to be as simple as that.
