After years of wanting to move into a DBA role, ideally working in Oracle, I've decided to get my hands on some learning material, and look into taking the exams. I figure once I have the knowledge and the quals, I can look more seriously into a job role that I like the look of.
I've had a look around on google but most hits come up as the actual courses, and I tend to be nervous of these now days (took up an MCSE course just before Advent went down that pan).
Any ideas on where I should start, again bearing in mind I'd like to finish up at oracle. I'm bascially a novice at SQL, so should i start with that before hitting Oracle or dive straight in? Some good reading material recommendations would be nice.
