I've got quite a lot of spare time at work, so I thought it would be an interesting experiment to see if I can move my Windows machine over to a linux distro and still perform my day to day tasks.

Most of the software is easily transferable, but the one I'm having issues with is Outlook. We have an exchange 2003 server, which I need to have the same level of access to as I do now. This means that I need to have access to my calendar, global address book, etc. Now thunderbird seems to do most of what I need (apart from the calendar part), but I was wondering if anyone had any other experience in this area ?

I think I might have to run a virtual machine containing Windows XP anyway, so I can get access to the Windows admin tools, but I would rather keep the VM to a minimal overhead and not run outlook inside it.

I was worried that there would be no way for me to do it :(.

Maybe I'll just have to use outlook web access when I want to look at my calendar.

Evolution with the exchange-connector. That basically gives you access to OWA through Evolution.

Thanks just got it up and running now :)

So far so good, just need to get a VM contain XP up and running for when I have to do some domain admin stuff.

Can't really see what I'm going to be missing from windows, but we'll see.
