Hey All,

I've just moved to the UK from Australia, where I was a sometimes lerker on Overclockers Australia (OCAU) for about 20 years, of late is was more buying stuff I didn't need from the forsake sub. I thought as one of my first official acts as living here I should post in OCUK, lol, as it seems I actually signed up back in 2021 when we first started planning to move. So here it is, G'day all.

Welcome - there's a lovely members market when you reach the entry criteria (I think it's based on number of posts and how long you've been a member - I'm sure it's written somewhere in one of the stickies) where I also buy things I don't need :-)

shhhh don't tell them about the secret sections.

Maybe OCUK should do post count matching criteria for other sections as well like GD for example. :D

GD should have one of those - are you drunk, it's 2am and you want to send an e-mail, this seems like a bad idea; could you just confirm for me what 6 x 7 is please? - criterias that Gmail used to have when I was younger (and in Australia)

It's not 2am, what are you on about? I don't want to send an email.

Are you drunk?

Hehe secrets out of the bag now, but maybe I'm better not to fins out, I really don't need to collect junk again, fresh start?
You're a very silly person.

Welcome :)
So everyone keeps telling me, both back in Aus and at my new job here, have I missed something? Lol
Errrm, you know about our weather right, oh and spotted dick?

Welcome either way.
Well bonus so far, I left Australia just before winter, so double spring/summer for me , I'll come crying around October I'm sure... just googled spotted dick, yeah that looks rank and that's ignoring the fact it's got suet in it. You forgot nettles, I found out the hard way they are a thing, haha.

Well the UK isn't at its best at the moment but you can often see things the locals don't see when you move to another country.

Mind you when we lived in NZ people we knew banged on about how moving there from the UK was great because you could do things like canoeing like that's an unheard of activity over here

I could only visit Aus in winter myself, can't be doing with the silly number degree summers. My mates over there often mention when the AirCon is going mental or if they're trains stopped because of a bushfire.

Love Aus but only to visit, the wildlife and nature in general just wants to kill you :)

Found post for Members marketplace requirements 180 days and 1000 posts and seems some posts don't count, haha I'm going to be safe as it will be quite a while until I buy useless stuff :)

Yes Australian wildlife wants to kill you, British plants want to kill you, though at least plants move more slowly haha.

They live in Australia... I don't think many people would deal with the hassle of shipping to Australia and vice versa.

Oh hell no, it wad bad enough sending our stuff over in the first place, for that reason alone not moving back, lol
Gday Bruce
I don't think I've ever met a Bruce tbh, I'm sure there was one on Neighbours though
Did they move back already?! Blimey that was quick
