Hello Everyone,

(Mods - FrenchTart has given the ok for me to post this as i did check first)

Some of you maybe aware that its Movemeber!.

Me and some others at work are trying to raise some funds for Movember (yes, Movemeber not Novemeber).

we have all agreed to have a moustache growing competition for the month. Now, as i don't have any social media accounts what so ever I thought I would post it on here instead.

some information taken from the website and the link below if you wish to read more about it.
Men are facing a health crisis that isn’t being talked about. They're dying too young – much before their time. This year, We're all taking action by raising funds for prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health and suicide prevention. Donate today and we can be the difference. We can stop men dying too young

We have so far managed to raise £195, if anyone else would like to donate and help out then the link is below.

Thanks for taking the time to read my post and if you donate thanks a lot :D

Regards

I've been able to grow a beard, especially dense around my chin, since I was 16. To this day (28), my moustache looks like a teenagers.

One day I will be able to commit to Movember with pride...

Best of luck with raising money, it's a great cause.

Sadly I look like a sex offender when I leave just the top lip with hair.. and for that reason. I'm out!

I do always grow a beard in November and donate so not all bad.

i am sure I will look terrible with a moustache but as everyone is doing it i thought it would be a laugh and get to raise some money at the same time. I only ever shave once a week But it does grow quickly.

Feel free to share the link if anyone else wants to pass it on :)

Movember can be credited wth the resurgence of the beard in society, should we have a female equivalent and encourage some nice big bush growth?

I've grown a 4inch beard prior to november.. so i kind of feel like i would be cheating if i shaved everything but the moustache..

Attempted it last few years but I end up with a patchy mess that looks like I've stuck pubes to my face. I wish I could grow a full beard out but genetics have shafted me so far.

I think the challenge is to shave completely 1st November, then continue to shave all of the face bar moustache for the rest of the month. Correct me if I'm wrong though.

I'm doing no-shave November myself, because I look like a 70's pornstar with a 'tache. Hopefully I'll be quite bushy by the end of it (oo-er)..

That is correct, everyone in the group shaved on the 1st of November and tomorrow is one week since it started!

we are all shaving and leaving the moustache in place tomorrow for the week so far update lol.

Yeah I'm doing it as well again (6th year running). Currently raised about £100 and am shooting for 250.

The point is not to look cool, for anyone who is concerned about their tash ability. The point is to start conversations about men's health and to raise money for the charities that work towards that.

It's a cause particularly close to my heart, as my dad started having chest pains weeks before he died of a heart attack, and maybe if he'd seen a doctor instead of brushing it off he'd still be alive. So if I look stupid for a month every year and the money or awareness raised changes one person's life or even saves it, then I'm good with that.
