Movement with TRUE 120

There isn't a problem with the base? Internet rumours get out of hand. .

"Well I spoke to this bloke who knows a bloke who said. . . ."

I'm using a TRUE out the box with no mods and its working great, I haven't lapped the base and I haven't done the Polo-Mod and the pressure is good, I can't swivel mine onces its attached.

Well I am a bloke with a TRUE (just like you), and mine does move very easily, it does push the thermal paste out from the centre, it's not something I "heard" until after I'd suggested to buy it and started this thread (Not my system, I built it).

I have no idea what the 'polo' mod is though.

I will be trying some washers though to increase tension as movement is bad frankly.

I have just got mine about a week ago and I can confirm on mine there are issues like that in reviews of heatpipes not connecting fully with the base.

I'd be worried if they did, considering they are incased in metal ;)

Well you have purchased one of the best dry-watercooling heatsinks in the world and it seems you are not happy? I wonder how are the temps?

I have used 1x TRU and 3x TRUE's and have been happy with the results although I did have to lap the first TRU as it's base was not to my satisfaction. It would be great if the base was perfectly flat on every heatsink but it seems a few are not as smooth as they could be? luckily I don't have a problem with doing a bit of lapping, it's like a 10-30 minute jobbie including the removal and reattachment of eveything.

Let's not forget that quite a lot of INTELs cpu have an IHS that is also not flat and can benefit from lapping but I don't see many threads calling this a problem.

I'm wondering if *perhaps* your motherboard is faulty? as in the CPU socket is 1mm to low, did you consider this?
