movie maker

Hi there,

I used to use movie maker to put together small videos I took on my mobile phone.

Since upgrading my pc to win 8.1 I can no longer use it.

For example I installed movie maker but it would not open using windows essentials 12 apparently as my video card is old and doesnt support dx11 so it didnt like it. So I installed win essentials 9 and movie maker opened but there was no sound being output for my videos when I know 10000% my videos have sound as when run using win media player or vlc they play back fine.

I dont want to use Adobe Premiere Pro as its overkill for what I want to do i.e. stick my videos together and add a title screen.

Any help how I can solve this movie maker issue or advice or any other freeware easy to use software?

Maybe converting the videos before you bring them into window movie maker, any .wmv should be work I think.

I got around it by installing movie maker from win essentials 9 and then converted my video files to avi in a free program called "format factory" and then dragged them into movie maker....

all sorted here

You can install the old WMM on Win 8 if you really want it, is that what you ideally want?
