Movie playing software?

^You can use mkvtoolnix to set the default audio/subtitle tracks for files that need them. You can also use it to remove tracks that you don't want..

i want to keep the multiple audio tracks but being able to set the default could be just what i need. i'll take a look. thanks.

VLC.

I used to use media player classic with all the correct codecs installed, but frankly it was just a ball ache to keep up to date.

MPC with all of this stuff without a doubt, the best there is then!

I used to use the LAV filters with PotPlayer, but it wouldn't fast-forward (skipping 5 seconds) WMV files without freezing.

I just use a naked PotPlayer with the built-in filters now - for me PotPlayer is a more rounded player than MPC and VLC.

Hmm, can't say I have had that problem with LAV and MPC, when I fast forward or rewind, it will pause for a second or two (think this is normal enough, especially with big film files) but plays fine after that.

Saying that I don't have many WMV's anyway! :p Pretty much all of mine are MKV's now.
