I'm looking for some wisdom!

I want to get a campervan moved from an address in the Lake District to my place in Surrey.

I've considered buying a long trailer and towing it but it'll be too heavy for my Golf. I possibly could borrow a bigger car but I've never towed anything so I'll probably **** it up.

I've also looked at getting someone do use a flatbed to move it but it was an expensive option (£500+)

Any other ideas from the collective brains here? Perhaps a recovery service that'll take me to destination?

If shoving it on a trailer you'd want to consider the weight limits and what is allowed under your driving license categories. You'd definitely want an appropriate towing vehicle for a campervan.

I've seen too many instances both in real life and video of people screwing up towing like a Land Rover on a trailer...

A recovery service who do it professionally will remove a lot of potential problems from the equation.

You might be able to find someone self-employed, etc. who'll do it for less than £500 - I can't recommend anyone but mate of mine used to try to take on stuff like this to fill in when they'd otherwise have an empty trailer on jobs.
