We looking at moving out guild site, as the one we have now makes treacle look fast the last few weeks, and tickets in get snooty replies.

Web site is www.mmo-guild.co.uk, what I need to know is it possible:

a) To move the entire forums content.

b) Move all the user so they do not have to sign up again.

Problem we facing is losing the history, even tho this site was previously our FPS clan site we now have stopped playing FPS games but even in the year or so since its generated a fair few posts.

Yup. A generic sort of process:
Back up website.
Export a copy of the forum database.
Install the forum package (or the website package) on the new website.
Import the database to the new location during installation.

That is how it should be done at least. A fair amount will depend on the hosts and their co-operation and what package you are using.

e107 Version 0.7.25 thats what it is using now, not sure how helpful they will be as I will be taking business away from them, have had this site there best part of 5 years I think.
We can get into the CP which seems to allow most thing even to changing the package we using.

Thanks for replies, I may be fine building PC and most PC software but I'm and utterly useless at this :p

It's possible, what forum software are you using? In MyBB you just pull a copy of the database from phpMyAdmin to then reimport.

Whats your control panel? If its cPanel you should just be able to do a full backup which will save as a .zip on your computer, you then just upload it, done it plenty of times :p

Only thing that sunk in there was the CP, yes its is cPanel or I think it is ... erm if one of you guys fancy a look ..drop me a tell :D

Really keen to move this away now.

Was thinking of maybe just getting some cloud space from someone like 123 reg and then building a new site.
