Thinking about making to Android probably the S22 Ultra or waiting for the S23 ultra.
First Android phone was a LG Optimus 4x and my last was a Samsung Galaxy S9.
Moved to iPhone 11 and currently 12pro mainly because I wanted to try it and the slightly better battery life. But after using wife’s S22 Ultra thinking of moving back.
What will I miss from iPhone if anything?
I only use iMessage for Mum and Dad but Mum uses WhatsApp or Facebook messenger also.
Is it easy to switch everything back? Worth going back? Miss having USB C and one charger that charges iPad Pro and phone.
Also has Samsung improved its music quality through headphones, always found the iPhone or iPad has more punchier sound through headphones.

If you have an iphone 12 then it sounds like yur phone is quite new. So why even consider moving phones? What's the driving force to get a new phone and does the Samsung do something your current iphone doesn't?

It really depends on how heavy you're into the Apple ecosystem. If you use other services (eg Spotify for music, Google Photos for photo backup, etc) then it's easy to move across.

As for headphone quality, this sometimes depends on the codecs both the phone and headphones support. Most Apple focused ones support AAC and Android phones supports this too. Sometimes though if the headphone supports aptX the Samsung will default to that, and it's subjective to each person whether it's better than AAC or not. You can change this in the phone developer settings but there's no way to make the phone remember your preferred codec. Alternative option, if your music is stored locally on the phone, use a music player that has a good equaliser and various other audio settings to tweak to your liking (eg Poweramp).

Always upgrade every 1.5 to 2 years. And the 12pro is now down to 89% battery health Already.
Only thing that really temps me is USB C although not a huge thing as I use a dual USB C plug for iPad Pro and usb c to lightening for iPhone. And also really like the zoom range of S22 ultra. Got rid of my DSLR and use phone for main photography needs now.

I'm currently using an s21U and planning to go back to Apple next round.

Samsung is more buggy overall. Battery life is well behind Apple. If you've already got an iPad losing that tight integration is annoying at times.
