Hi Guys,

I am moving back to the iPhone today from Android. It has been two and a half years since I last used one properly (iPhone 4). I will be receiving a Space Grey 5s :)

Reason for moving is that I use an iPad Mini Retina and Retina MacBook Pro all the time and it would be nice to complete the puzzle so to speak. I don't use the phone so much anymore since getting the iPad Mini so don't need a huge screen. I use Pages a lot as well so would be nice to have access to my docs when on the move.

What have I missed? Awesome app recommendations please!

I did the same thing just before Christmas

I'd been using a Nexus 4 for a year, but after the 4.4 update I liked it less and less, to the point where I became sick of it.

Since I had an apple tv and macbook, I thought I might as well sell it and get a 5s. Loving it!

I've done quite a bit of phone swapping (from April 2011: Desire HD, iPhone 4S, Galaxy S3, iPhone 5, Nexus 4, iPhone 5S), and each time I came back to iOS after having the same gripes with Android - the constant chasing down of problems rather than just using the damn thing, the lack of polish, the updates, the size of the devices, and the poorer interoperability with other devices (my Macs). Google's constant ridiculous requirements for data access (eg. requiring Web History to be enabled in order to sync contacts with Google Maps) just pulls me away from using Google even further. The only reason I kept switching between the two is due to the replacement iPhones I kept receiving having rather large dents in them. Not been an issue with the 5S.

The way that iCloud brings everything together is fantastic, and truth be told from my recent experience, even using iTunes Home Sharing coupled with Linn's Songbox as a music server for the hi-fi has been fantastic. Won't be moving away from the Apple ecosystem in the near future.

Recommended apps...to be honest if you were using well-known services before, the chances are that the same services will still have the apps of choice (Evernote etc). I guess I could say Evernote, Reeder, Dropbox, Hullomail (crashes a lot though), however those again are more services than anything else.

Google Play Music will be my secondary music source for less "important" music, the rest will be lossless on the phone itself.

The only Android devices that hold any appeal to me (because of software) are the Nexus range - the Nexus 5 looks and feels lovely, and the display is gorgeous.

Using Downcast for podcasts.

I am so impressed so far, I think the iPhone has come on leaps and bounds since I last used it. Looking forward to iOS 7.1 to speed things up a bit more.

The speaker on the phone is excellent for podcasts, its loud and very clear. That was a real surprise.

Struggling to find fault so far apart from it would be nice to have a slightly larger screen but I am sure that will come this year.
